GOD NO! It still was very enjoyable though. At first sight I thought Kyou with short hair was Ryou but when I saw the color of her eyes I knew she cut her hair which shocked me. I loved Kyou with long hair! I kind of like it. Awesome episode. Definitely better than the Tomoyo episode since we have the Fujibayashi sisters both in it.
And, geez, Sunohara should have just gone for it. Sunohara is surprisingly mature for this chapter. He speaks for a lot of us when commenting on Tomoya, or for any other bishoujo series protagonist for that matter: You sure have really luxurious problems! Hopefully, this episode will lay those ghosts to rest once and for all. OH MAN! They should totally make that the ova to the tomoyo after series that kyoani is secretly making! It just feels way too rushed.
Saw it now. Yup That was good. Too bad there are no choice of tanzanite and amethyst which I thought should have a vital part in the arc but still a good episode by KyoAni.. Yuki Nagato? I wish the main series was like this. Sunohara was a big surprise.
He even gave a good advice. Kyou being sad was also surprising. Overall, this is the most emotional, fast paced episode of Clannad ever. It did leave me wishing there was still more Clannad; the style, theme and pacing is just something else. After a while it just becomes another dirty cheap word. The scene at the end, with the cut hair and the kiss was done better in the Visual Novel.
The kiss came first before he realized instead of the other way around. Also it would have been nice if they had run into Kappei or at least shown Ryou with Kappei at the end just to show that the Ryou ends up happy too. Sunohara rocks in this one. Great ep. They don't put in public affection that much, same with the anime where they spend over 50 episodes and the main couple never get over being nervous and can never say I love you, so it never feels like there is a conlcusion.

In the Visual Novel that is. By the end of the regular route for Nagisa they kiss during the scene where Tomoya is invited to the "picnic" which they end up doing in the park close by to the store and playing baseball, yes, there was supposed to be a kiss there.
Yes we see them hold hands but that's about it. For heaven's sake we never even see them kiss. Not even when they were married. I get the point that the story was focused more on wholesome young love. But when the story transitioned from young love to marriage, I expected them to at least kiss. I liked the fact that they never show any PDA. It allows the viewer to focus on the more important things.
