RP is when people behave as though they are the character they are playing based on the lore of the world. In other words, you make up and act out a story with other players that is based in the "reality" of Telera. Originally Posted by winterfall.

However, players demanded another realm type, which combined the PvP ruleset with the roleplaying policies. Ideally these realms would be the perfect choice for roleplayers who want to have less restrained, more spontaneous PvP experience than they would on realms with the PvE ruleset, and free of bluewalling. However, RP-PvP realms have a large share of players who break the RP policies, as well as those who engage in ganking , corpse camping , and other kinds of griefing.
If you come from a RP or PvE server, you may quickly come to realize that this world is much more hostile and irritating than you may have expected. There is a less noticeable focus on RP because, plain and simply, people are trying to kill you constantly. Many would agree that PvP'ers in general have a more competitive mind set, and RP time is divided between time spent trying to get decent gear to survive or victimize more effectively. However, the enforcement of rules tends to vary server to server as it does on all types of servers.
The most frequent difficulty on RP-PvP or normal RP servers comes from the expectations of disgruntled would be role-players. Roleplaying simply means to play game as if you were your character. It simply means doing things that you think your character would do, and putting yourself in the shoes of that character. That sort of thing. When you roleplay in a group, you have conversations based on what your characters might be thinking and feeling. You say things that you think your character would be likely to say.
You react to what the others in the group say and do not as you would in real life but as your character would. We all did it instinctively as children. I hope that helps you understand a bit more. Adding to this, hope you don't mind. Yes before anyone comments, this is copy pasted from the: " Role-playing Realms Policy - battle. They have a strict naming policy unlike other realm types. Even then, I'd recommend considering getting to cap on a PvE realm and then transferring to a PvP realm later if that suits you.
Too easy to get actioned for a minimal amount of swearing. I, and plenty of others on my realm, chat how we like without having to worry about the average report-hungry noob. Yes, people get reported, but GMs here aren't bad people dead-set on enforcing Hello Kitty language. Said one non-derogatory "swear" word not aimed at anyone or anything in a dungeon with one RPer in it, got actioned within hours. Total BS. That being said, if you like chatting without major restrictions or the feeling that you're going to be attacked for talking, don't go to an RP realm.
Post by Adamsm Aye the RP rules are far more laid back in regards to names. As for the 'report hungry noob' thing; I report anyone I see doing the spam, insulting language and all the rest when it comes to LFD.
But I do it so I won't be grouped up with monkey brained people like that again for the rest of my play period.
