Obviously, the map orientation wasn't so sacred to the developers that they wouldn't alter it when it was convenient. Who cares? Not Nintendo. I do think the motion controls make the game experience different, and could definitely affect how much someone likes the game because of it. So, if people say the Wii version is inferior because of them, I get that. But just the fact that the map is flipped makes it inferior?
Can't get behind that. User Info: TourianTourist. Because the sun normally doesn't rise in the west. It's a secret to everybody! User Info: Danspurt. TourianTourist posted I think a lot of people didn't even notice this. Like, if you were looking at the sun to see how long you needed to wait until night, you didn't check the map to see where the sun was going, since you could actually see the sun moving.
Of course, if anyone needed proof that the GCN version was the canon one, the western sunrise was a clear sign. But it didn't butcher unknowing players' experience with the game.
Won't change this sig until pi equals 4. I feel like we have diverged from the main point. The main point was NOT if the mirrored version affected gameplay but rather why it was considered a con. I believe that has been easily shown.
The game was clearly designed with regular in mind and then merely flipped because they thought it would be easier for right handed people to use right handed motion controls never mind it likely made no difference because left handed people were able to adapt just fine, like we always do As I was walking up the stairs, I met a man who wasn't there, he wasn't there again today, i wish I wish he'd go away. Nintendo did think it would be a problem though.
Thus the mirroring. That's really all there is to it. Log In Sign Up. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? Don't have an account? Sign up for free! User Info: CyberLance User Info: Sepewrath. CyberLance26 posted Will right handed Wii players think it feels weird to play as a left handed character or something? Yes and in order to switch his hand, the animations had to be switched, hence the world being mirrored.
Why flip the entire game around on the Wii version just to get Link to use his right hand? If you swing the wiimote with your right hand, Link should be swinging the sword with his right arm, otherwise his actions become all wacky to what you see.
NOTE: It's important to understand that they radically changed the control scheme around the time of E3 Before you would press a button to do sword manouvers and make small gestures for special moves basically using wiimote as more of a gimmick , now you actually have to swing the wiimote like it's link's sword a part of the gameplay now. So matching the wiimote hand to Link's sword hand is important for this configuration. The reason for flipping the game is in an article, some of the enemies would have unintentional weaknesses if link wielded his weapon in the opposite hand messing up gameplay.
So basically this was included as a necessary evil for implementing the new control scheme. Search In. Twilight Princess mirrored on Wii version? Share More sharing options Followers 0.
