Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe.

When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. And when your children ask you, "What does this ceremony mean to you? For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed" 1 Corinthians Do not break any of the bones" Exodus Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?

Let him deliver him, since he delights in him'" Psalm Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom. I am like the deaf, who cannot hear, like the mute, who cannot speak" Psalm — Then Pilate asked him, 'Don't you hear the testimony they are bringing against you? You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" Psalm — He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work" Ephesians — The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death" Psalm — He is not here; he has risen!

Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: "The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again"'" Luke —7. The Lord has spoken" Isaiah —8. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears; I have not been rebellious, I have not turned away. I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting" Isaiah —6. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again.

After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him" Matthew — What kind of presence would Jesus have in his church?

These prophecies consider how Jesus would rule and judge the world. You must listen to him. For this is what you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said, 'Let us not hear the voice of the Lord our God nor see this great fire anymore, or we will die'" Deuteronomy — Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?

I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed one always" 1 Samuel He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you" Psalm — He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead" Acts What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open" Revelation Astute observers will recognize the topic of justice coming up again and again in these prophecies.

As these prophecies reveal, God planned our redemption all the way back in the garden. Jesus's death and resurrection were the most important events in history. It's no surprise that God would give us signs of his plans throughout Israel's history and prophets.

Jesus's story reveals God's incredible love for us.
